Ok , i really dont want to rot now , so lets blog again . Well ever since this holiday i havent gotten the chance to do much . Yesterday, im so happy for My cornerstones group, they finally got back their results and they all did pretty well , the atmosphere felt light like they got something big off their chest! so thats great!praise the lord haha feel kinda bad yesterday though , leaving just like that before D.O :p but had to rush, sorry guys

Anyway , trying to find something to do right now . Was thinking of listing some stuff i can do this holiday . i already tried putting work in it ,but was thinking something more ...hmm abit more adventuring ... something like randomly go out to the beach or something ... hmm any ideas?

A surprising growth

Yesterday was filled with down turns , worse came at night when i lost my long assignment i had spent the whole afternoon doing. It was all typed out but carelessly i didn't save any out it before it randomly such down and to add to it the assignment was suppose to be handed in today , so you can imagine the distress i was going through , all the hard work and original ideas gone. Now on a typical day , i would be panicking and well be ticking mad by now....But here is the part i really have to thank god for , i wasn't panicking , i wasn't mad . disappointed at most but i was surprised at how well i took the situation. i just prayed and asked people to pray for me on my nick and ...just ..... redid it , steadily it was finished again. God ,thanks for the grace and help you sent.

Something has to be done

Just had a wonderful sleep. These last week was one of the best i had with Cornerstones, i know i have never seemed very involved but you guys sure made it possible for me to take one more step forward and towards god. Never really got the chance to say this but i think one of the biggest factor that this camp was such a great camp was because of you guys. Thanks

The Christmas to remember

All the many days of our lives sometimes you can't help but sit back and enjoy the moments you had with your friends and loved ones. Well for this Christmas that moment sure hit me.

Oh! before i forget MERRY CHRISTMAS ! hope you had a great Christmas. Alright ! now where were we ? right , why this Christmas was something to remember.

Well to start off , the midnight mass was delightful , we got to share the experience of Jesus's birth, the joy of sharing presents and importantly the sharing of hearts /good cheers ..oh maybe an occasion of a good tease too. haha , and hearts out to Mich Tan, Mich Phua and Gwen for getting us guys the really cool hats ! I was like Wowed ,at first thought you actually made it, imagine my surprise when you told me it wasn't hahaha . Simeon, the details on your hat are one to admire . hahhahaha!!!

Then we headed to RK to eat for supper! And after that we made our long long trip to Michelle's house ( Michelle , u are totally right , we would have gotten there earlier if we walked faster , right? haha did you see the guys face when we told them we walked? haha ) Oh, the first thing that i noticed about Michelle's home was how nice it looked ,yeah ,it may not be the biggest house in the neighbourhood but the design esp the Windows sure was outstanding and inside her house it felt airy and cozy at the same time , perfect.

While at her house , cornerstones and the group sure had a great time ! we spent most of the night playing guitar hero and Mario cart on ps3 and wii. Sharing a few tease here and there we all had alot of laughs and cheers. You should have seen us playing Mario cart! we were like shouting at each other to move faster , poor friends who got 12th position , haha they got laughed at . lol ( oh and Hubert you are one fast learner , you nailed guitar hero really fast , like when we were heading home you were trying experts songs right? haha

The day kinda concluded after that cos we couldn't stand it anymore , tiredness won over us .haha . Like to thank Michelle for being a great host to us and to your family for the food . haha

Hey cornerstones

Happy feast day! It has been a while since our group attended mass and i just want to say how nice it was to see us sitting in that row attending mass together like that.

Anyway this email is about something bishop nic said during the homily that i think really concerns us as a community. If i recall correctly he said something about community and that we must see each other as a brother and sister in order to facilitate a community. But how can we say he or she is a brother or sister if we dont know them and dont know whats going on in their lifes? like seeing a community member for years and yet not know a thing of the person, can we really say he/she is a brother/sister? (sorry, may not be exactly what he said cause i was drifting in and out of sleep while he was talking but its along the lines, thanks Mich phua for trying to keep hubert and me awake)

It kinda dawned on me that Bishop nic might have a point here.It brought about a few questions.Like do we really know each other as a brother and sister? and What can we do for our group that will not only benefit cornerstones but show the rest of the members who we really are?

Well these are some questions to ponder on cause the next few weeks many of us wont be around.So i guess this would be a good way to get us to think of god and the group while we are enjoying ourselves haha? treat it like a session, just that .....its online. haha

So what do you think? whats on your mind? haha hope to get your reply , i can compile everyone's sharing and opinion and send out another email. cheers!

Welllll as I told you, I'm not really sure what else to say, except that I totally agree with everything you said. (And I guess that's why a lot of people haven't replied too!)

I think although we always say we wanna be a community (and not a ministry), we have never really been a community in the full sense of the word. That is perhaps because we have never really understood what it means to be community/ we have forgotten what we were told when Cornerstone was first formed.

However, I also think that once there is greater understanding of what community is (hopefully our dec retreat will achieve that!), and we all consciously work towards achieving that, Cornerstone can truly become the community we hope to be. That is of course provided that this is in fact what we all want- a group of brothers and sisters in Christ, sincerely interested in each others' lives, and each others' relationships with God.

Ookay I've got to rush off now. I hope that was coherent. Thanks for doing this (:

hello aloysious! im sorry for this super late reply due to my packed schedule. hahah ! anyway, i feel so upset that i seem to be missing out on sessions and meetups with corner stone): although i did not have the fortune of attending that particular mass. however, those probing questions did start the ball rolling in my mind, so thank you ! anyway, i think it's really true. a community is really vital in ensuring the growth of the group. although cornerstone might meet for sessions like once a week? but it is usually only about a couple of hours? moreover, we might be close to only a few particular individuals within cornerstone? yet.... i doubt so everybody is close to everybody ?? you know what i mean ? i feel that a community can only truly experience meaningful and progressive growth if everybody is familiar and is comfortable with everybody in the group ? in that way, it will be easier to share our individual problems and situations and experiences with one another as we have trust and faith in each other. therefore, i do suggest more bonding sessions if possible for that is the only way in which i can currently think of that could help in closing the distance between everybody.

i feel that everything happens for a reason and that everybody in cornerstone joined for a reason-to grow together in faith!! i believe that if we are able to see each other as true brothers and sisters, the growth of cornerstone would be very optimistic. The fact that we are sharing the same faith and the obvious enthusiasm of wanting to know more about god and his kingdom already show that we are heading towards the same direction which is rather encouraging, i must say for noone is alone in his/her journey of faith! ((: thank the lord for blessing me with the gift of knowing cornerstone !!((:

The duty of music

When music fails to agree to the ear.To soothe the ear and the heart and the senses then it has missed its point.

Couldn't agree with this more. Was just at a concert not long ago at Victoria concert hall, my church choir had combined with other choirs to dish out one of the best choir concerts i heard. It was really surprising to see friends sing so well , so professionally. haha Thanks guy , you made Christmas carols come early this year. The atmosphere and the magical voices certain manage to hit the ears, hearts and senses of the people tonight. However the highlight in today's entry was what was printed on the walls of this hall.

Which brings back to the whole point of this entry, Music , what is the essence of music ? Well maria callas music has to achieve the set rules that it must hit essentially our soul.But what do u think?

For me , i see it as sub-conscience brought to our attention. Maria has made us awareness of something i see we do every time we listen to a piece of music. think , what do u do ?
if you ha vent notice , we listen to whether it touches us ear, heart and soul . Maybe you haven't think so deep about it or you think this is a "duh" thing . But reflect over it, be aware of yourself cos you might find a thing or 2 about myself. Like in my case, i learnt that my appreciate of music usually stems from a reflection of myself at the time I'm listening to it , for instance i feel really really high , then my taste will lean towards beatty hip hop or r&b but on a more lay back atmosphere emo songs usually fit my case. See? haha

the dash

The dash

Well hope you manage to watch the video above .Its a very sweet yet inspiring clip about that little dash we see on a tombstone inbetween dates.It says that on the tombstone its that dash between the dates that really matters for our lives because it represent the journey we had from cradle to grave. The video also adds that life within that dash has so much meaning then the material attachments in life , its about living a life you want to remember through things that are real, things that will be with you when you die.But what really interest me is that the slides showed a thing or two on how to do it and essential showings us to a better purpose in life.

These values are really important to us, as for the author its that little dash. It keeps us alive in the steps we take to the next-life and it is the cornerstone of our behavior, it is governed by the different propective we have on our life and what we do to it.So maybe you should consider your life and reflect, what are your values ? are they going to be the ink that draws, shape and determine the dash on our dates on the tombstone?

Have a think about it and let me leave you with a little something Esther brought up from the author of the dash.

However, I must say that I am who I am. I am not a counselor. I am not an advisor. I am a poet who had a particular insight into life which somehow created a worldwide, for lack of a better word, "awareness." I am very proud of that accomplishment and have received thousands of calls and emails about what my poem has meant to people. I receive emails and calls every single day. It has been almost inconceivable to me. But, as I mentioned, I am who I am. I let a curse word slip every now and then. I have a beer or two with friends at times and I don't go to church nearly as often as I should. But the fact is, I ALWAYS try to treat others with kindness and respect.

That is one of the messages that I tried to convey in The Dash poem. Living a dash that you can be proud of doesn't mean trying to be perfect and changing yourself to fit the mold of what people tend to think of as a "good" person. To me, it means doing the best you can every day to live a life which may someday allow you to leave behind a legacy of kindness, and laughter. I try to think every day of what people will remember of me, should I not see tomorrow. Someone once said, if you want to know how to live your life, think about what you want people to say about you when you're gone, and live backwards. That is a great strategy.

The appreciation of where i stand

haha, This is like a regular post.. but with a twist. Its about the people who touch or stepped a one part of my life.See sitting on this wooden thinking chair of mine, i realized that everything is just fine and its all thanks to the people i have been around with.Even with the hardships and uncertainties we go through.

What i really want to talk about today is friendship, hell i'll tell u this , i wouldn't be where i'm right now if it wasn't for the friends i'm with now. Guys like Kel, Wan, Jer, Yw, eug AND joey! have always something up their sleeves that i can learn and its because of them i have made one more step to maturity , (trust me on this, people who graduate from ST.GAB have a sense of immaturity that we are proud of which sometimes is a curse more than anything).Anyway the point is that its the people you hang around with that influence in some degree to be where you are ( Smile , something i learnt from Esther , thanks mana! Will treasure that conversation )

Haha, in fact everyone in my life now had a part to play in my life now.
Some examples are like

-Yen Ru , who taught me that you can never be to early for projects haha
-Swee ting and Shi ya, if it looks good, smells good, taste good . EAT IT!! haha and eat alot of it
-Michelle, for being an example and showing me that i can be more than i'm now
-Esther, see deep and see wide ...accept, understand and be yourself

And there are many more people in life that have left a mark in some ways , maybe some in friendship, some mentoring and even company.

Day to remember

The rain had just left its mark and passed on through. Little did i know that,that day would be filled with so much fun. haha. This just happened 2 days ago , Nyp had kindly invited a few of us Hospi students to do a photo shoot for the upcoming posters for Open house next year.At first , things didnt turn out so well , Yao wei didnt want to come, its was raining really heavy that day and well the threat of feeling weird , all discouraged me from going. But now, thinking it over, i'm really happy that i could go there cos not only did i have fun with my class mates (Nurul and Yao wei , yes he finally went) but i got to meet 4 great gals as well.I think i should thank them for making this whole photo shoot something really enjoyable and worth while ( ok Alex , dont feel sad , u made it fun too).The 4 gals are really something. haha

Happy Deepavali to all!!

Just came back from a wonderful chilling time at Bao's house, really got to thank her for inviting us to go and for everyone that came, u guys really made it fun! haha Well here are some pics of the place , mind the blurriness cause i was moving .

First two pics were us entering the huge mansion . haha Xiang Ting, Nurul, Aishah, Jer, Kel, Jiun Chyi, Jessie, Lynnette and i were able to make it.We actually hoped ju ju could go, but she had work,while we were visiting her shop, kel kept saying that he wanted to burn her shop down so she could go. haha so funny

The next two showed the Second floor of Espall's house, haha we spent most of the time there.

Lastly the coolest place in her house, haha ...its a secret room ....cant say much about it ...its a secret ( OMG,i can imagine kel shouting at me now " eh! don't act cute!")

Randomess at work

Currently in IBRC and we guys now are super bored.Yao wei is playing my i-touch, wan is playing this new game called spore ( u should play it , quite fun), kel is listening to music and jer is hard at work finishing his tutorial before the class start...oh not forgeting joey ....obviously.haha

But come to think of it this kind of boredness isnt so bad. Rather grateful that our class is very slack this year. Having a day off on wed, least 2hr break on both tues and thurs and ending really early the rest of the days is kinda good on people nerves cause we all have plenty of time to cut ourselves from the pressure.

Right, straight to the randomness. Currently the school has offered our course to study and work overseas at Disneyland and Universal studio. Now my question to you is , should i go? i'm now stuck in between this decision.Friends are telling me to take it, my parent are like " pls ! why dont u go ! its a great opportunity, we will support you!" so it seems that everything is in favor. hhmmm, But then why m'i so hestitanate to take up this chance ? ...

I thought about it for some time. Maybe i'm afraid to leave singapore for 6 months, maybe i feel that there is still alot going for me here in Singapore instead. haha,

Dont worry , i'm already decided to try and go for this overseas study trip. But i just want to know , is this how ppl left when they know they are leaving home for a long period of time?

What photo mean to us in life

I just had a really good chat with esther, and during our chat she brought up a wonderful thing about how photo relate to us. She showed me her post and its so insightful and so to the heart of the issue, i had to copy it here.pls do read it and enjoy

Memories.

But I cannot make you happy.Photographs. Everybody likes to take photos everywhere we go, with whoever we meet, and whatever we see, so as to remember why we take these pictures, and the moments we used to have. The extent of taking photographs varies, such that some people would pose properly and purposely to appear pretty in the pictures, while some people would take any shot that last within a second, in which when you miss the shot, you miss it all.

Cameras implanted in handphones are getting so convenient, because we don't have to carry yet another camera with us just to take a few pictures which may not be as good as what the phone cameras can provide. For most phones, we can even add effects (night effect, some brown colour effect, etc.), frames, or even pictures when taking the photo, so as to add in more excitement and laughter when looking back at them.

But are we forgetting something?

I mentioned about the purpose of taking photos, where we go, who we are with, what we see, and why we take the photo shot... but how do we feel at the point when the photograph was being taken?

I personally don't take alot of photographs, but from what I see in the TV, from the people around me, I think that photographs are like contradictory items that we should just throw them away.

Take for instant, you just broke up with your girlfriend/boyfriend. But when you were looking through the photos taken with your other half, you either laugh over it because you had moved on, or cry bitterly because you are still struck with the break-up

.Let me ask you then, is this the purpose why you take the photo in the first place? To let you cry day and night because you predicted that both of you might not be together in the end? To let you get all so sad that once the picture is in your head, you'd act all so moody and dead all day long?

Nope. Of course those are not the reasons why you take the photos, right?

We take photos, because we want to remember the moments we share with the people, what we were doing at the very place and time, and how we felt at that time. This, my friend, is the actual and the correct meaning of what we call memories. To remember the happy times together, not to remind you of your break-up. If it is a reminder about your break-up, then you should, like what I said, just throw them all away. If that is the case, then there is certainly no point keeping those photos with you, isn't it?

I can only make you smile, but the way how you see things, will then allows you to be happy.

Today was great, haha ,even though it was a simple outing with just nurul, wendy,wan, kel, jer, bao and eug. Thanks guys, for being there! really the simple things you all do really makes my day.

The first day of school was a little expected haha , filled with laughs and reunion.haha, thanks to wan ! Wah his joke today was damn funny! see , we were having our last class , which was Managing MICE. So like any first class ,we'd have ice breaker, ms Shirley Tee (the tutor) was running attendance until she read Wan's name. Since Ms Tee didn't know how to call wan ,she called Ridwan , " Johari" lol, the class laughed quite hard. But that not to funny part, it was what wan said after " oh , he went to work" ( keep in mind she still didn't know he was) hahahahaha

man the class couldn't stop laughing.

Oh! there was another funny incident, dunno why but it just crack me up thinking about it now. It about the end of our trip from Bugis and were getting infor about Eug's clubbing,it was his first time and the first time anyone grind himself while dancing. haha. The way he describe it ! haha

oh man i wish i could describe it here but , you have to really see it for yourself.

THE WINTER'S FALL

Can you remember the time when things seems just right , when you don't need the care in the world , everything is like a clock working just perfectly? Are you living like that now?

Well whether the answer is yes or no , do you always blame the ill situation which cause you your predicament? Well i do , almost all the time, actually in fact I'm guilty of blaming everything around me instead of myself when things don't seem to go well ( Bet you can relate) .But have i always known that what happens to me is up to how i see the things around me, have you ever given it a thought?

Life and its situation rarely has anything to play how we feeling in that moment.It all comes down to our mind.As the phrase goes " you get lemons make lemonades", so regardless what we can still think its just right if we think that it is. But what stem us to feel so unhappy at our current situation ? I personally think its our human nature to compare, to compare the past and the present , to compare our own situations with others. See , what is happiness if there is no base line to be happy? When you compare, you set a line/ a goal for yourself to be happy, that line is the your comparison and most of the time that line wont be met because you are experiencing something different. So if you have nothing to compare yourself with wouldn't it mean that there is nothing to stopping from controlling where the line should set ? haha wouldn't it mean that you will be happy just where you are?

I for one m trying very hard to set that goal to one day live a life free from comparing because whats a life if everything you see is going to upset you.All and all i hope this would make me a better person one day.

Metaphors

Currently now Esther is probably having a hard time with her neck because of a bone out of place and is causing her a lot of headaches.So all you out there please do wish that she will get well soon. Life is like a roller coaster,bear hug,crystal clear . We hear metaphors all the time on the radio , on the television , in the newspaper and even when chatting . But have you ever thought what metaphors really are and whats the use of using it? haha

Well metaphors are direct comparisons between subjects which at first sight have unrelated concepts. Its is usually created by saying one thing is another. A primary entity mixed with secondary entity. Example ( primary are highlighted green , secondary are highlighted blue)

When it hurts more then it suppose to

The last post i mentioned about chance and how it has helped us discover some of the inventions which made our life it is now. And i got to thank Esther for this , she really know her stuff , well there was one incident of chance which allowed us to have fantastic quick meal since its creation.The inspiration of microwave! read Esther's tag! unbelievable right?
I'll update you the full story about it when i find something.

Well before i start i have to apologize for this post . Usually i would create the entry for you guys out there.But this time its a post about me. Its an incident that happened today....and an emotion which lasted for 2 years

Its a about girl and my feelings for her for 2 years now . She is a wonderful girl , her beauty only matched by her intelligence and soul . God really out did himself with her and i really got to thank him for being able to meet such great girl in my life.But here is the problem and my biggest fault , i blame himself for this but within all this time ...i have not made any move. i think I'm really a wimp for this but the reason why i couldn't tell my feelings to her is because she didn't feel the same way about me and that if do tell her about my feelings its might affect a church group she and i are in .

The point is that its been so long...and today something really struck me. i was sitting on a bench with my friends today and we were happily chatting, waiting for her (cos she had to pass something to one of my friends)...then she came ....and my god , though i seen her in her simple jeans and t-shirts many times before today she looked beautiful she just has glow about her ...

But though it was a pleasure seeing her today, it actually hurt too... because the first thing that went through my mind was that we both may very well never be together.Here is such a wonderful girl in front of me and god has to play a cruel trick to give only one sided love.

Well tell you the truth it hasn't been the first time. For about 3 months , every time i go talk to her or see her ... i get this feeling ,its like a new hole in my heart every time and salt rubbed on my old holes . i always tell myself that if she if worth it but i don't know how long i can hold anymore...hahahaha pretty ironic right ... kinda gives the expression " so good it hurts".

OH~~ you probably said this a dozen of time . like " I'll leave it to fate", " anything will do". Basically you are willing to leave yourself to a simple fellow named chance. But how exactly is chance important to us?

well do you know that our lives are been change time and again by chance? haha , there is one example to prove it all . Pandol addicts and sick bugs should know this.Its the discovery of penicillin.

Discovered by Alexander Fleming in 1928 , this guy actually found penicillin while cleaning his glass plates from a former experiment. The story goes that the good doctor was cleaning is plates from a previous experiment of staphylococcus bacteria and after a while he reached one
that was rather weird. it had a ring and in the ring there was no bacteria growing and TA DA !! penicillin was born ( of course there is more to this ,but you get the idea) . it like what !!! half the world is saved all from a simple accident . makes you wonder whether you should leave everything to chance right ? haha

hhm, what happens when you are faced with a problem solving situation? what does your mind do? haha. how did you figure out the decision? haha well some of you might say" well because its common sense?" EXACTLY ! common sense ...or more commonly referred to as logic.Its plays large part in connecting and building of knowledge.

But have you ever wondered why understanding logic is really important ? haha actually after some research i found out that its rather helpful . Firstly , learning more about logic and arguments you will be able to improve your quality of your decided idea.Secondly your ability to evaluate arguments/ideas.Not bad right? haha , some of us who find that we always end up with bad decisions and have no idea to take a stand for your ideas will find this a fantastic subject to go improve on.I myself have taken quite an interest to this ... As you imagine , its because i dont have a good foundation to relate and create and stand up for ideas.

Ultimately having a better understanding also improves your communication. how ? Your improved skill would allow you to figure out why and what your partner is communicating to you and in turn allows you to know how to response to him or her? cool stuff right ? how would you like to be called a person who never misses a beat when talking ? haha

Of course, logic is a double edged blade. Have you ever got caught in a situation where your heart tells you something while your mind tells you something else ? and the whole dilemma would eat your insides up? yup ... logic also causes conflict. Conflict between your emotions and logic.But understanding logic will give you a better hold of such conflicts.In other case conflicts arrives through a true situation but is contradictory or against your common sense. haha They are what you called Paradox.

"Humans appreciate the sameness and also the breaking of the sameness" ...have a think about it ? what does it mean to you? haha , do you think this is very true?

We humans are very unique , we work on certain principles that help us sort out things that otherwise would have confused the living lights out of us yet it also helps us set apart from routine and be more then with we can be by being different.

This is one of our more obvious trades we have . When we see a painting we don't understand or become struck in a confusing situation.whats the first thing your mind does? ....yes ! to seek patterns, something familiar to you,something that you can understand amongst the chaos. Taking this to our own lives, we consistently seek similarity , look around you in your room, almost everything in your room has some similarities about you, does it not? haha ....this is how powerful we follow the principle.

Yet human nature is a funny thing, though we seek the similarity we love to be different, we love to stand out . Take example the in music , though we love the same kind of genre we adore artist who bring something new to the table. Even in our lifes we seek to be different, when we see a new shoe , a new gadget , a new marketed object we desire.what do we do? haha , you probably dream of getting it? see ...the principle in action.

What you are missing

What if someone knew something you do dont , something that would benefit you , would you listen? would you feel bumped that you lost the opportunity?

I was having a chat with a friend this very night and something she said really struck me. Lets say she inspired this entry.Now what was it that struck me you say ? Its our failure to listen at times , to not hear what someone has to share because of our own retention to keep hearing only what we want.

But here is food for thought,what you are listening is a teasure because whatever that was being shared to you was for you , it chose you to listen at that every moment among everyone else ....so why throw it away?

i think that some of us let it fall in deaf years is because we may think that person is thinking too much and so think its not important to listen to it.Well ask yourself , who are the kind of people who writes those beautiful books like tuesdays with morrie or write out scripts for your fav drama? ...Yup! you guessed it , people who think alot , see ...these are the people who think alot , think so much till they understand the things around us , then they share it with you by books and media . so what the difference when someone shares with you a well thought idea ? why not listen ? haha they could have something u could learn.haha ,

Wall-e

Its a beautiful morning , the rain is drizzling , the temperature is nice and cooling..haha perfect.
So i guess since i'm going to be in the house for sometime i guess why not blog abit.

Well just abit about yesterday, my classmates kel, wendy, eug, puma and me went off in the morning to sentosa to have some fun.though it rained and all we manage to kick in some fun. haha but i'm not goin to talk about that , you would know how it feels playing by the beach ...haha .....wet.

What i really want to talk about is a movie i watched with them after the beach picnic.Wall-e, have you heard of it,its a movie? well here is a little spoiler , there is this robot(Wall-e) who fell in love with another robot(eva) and was willing to travel through the whole milkyway and space to takecare of her and well ....in our human terms, woo her . haha ,its really quite a sweet show.

Something struck me in during the show, something that wall-e did throughout the whole show.Do you know what?He never gave up, time and again he kept on trying to get to her , be with her and each time he did it failed. But after each failer he tried again ...it's super admirable....he knew what he wanted and was willing to overcome every odds to get it.

I think we should learn a thing or two in movie , that we cant just give up when things turn bad or when the slightest bump arises ...if whatever you are going for it worth it ....go for it and always look forward ...never look back.

Tuesday's with Morrie

Lessons of life.Life is a funny thing don't you think? we go through it everyday without ever knowing that it is one big big classroom , and the topic? .....how to live.

You see life is filled with lessons , many very practical for us . No No, no textbook is needed, not a single page of notes required just you and a willingness to experience.

But there's a catch to all this , you have to open your eyes! see !! observe!...

Probably now you may be thinking ? what for ? i just live the way i want it to be and lessons are boring. But its not as unbenefical as you think. Taking my personal experience , taught by Kelvin .I found out many things about the people around me.For instance , i found out that a classmate of mine is really excited about going overseas but she is really caught up with the projects and airline transaction.Knowing this, i understand and try to help out as much as i can.

Also i realized that i have a very kind friend in class who sometimes brings in sushi to class for everyone. From here you learn the true light of your friends.

Alright , lets put it in a way you would benefit from opening your eyes and learning what life has to offer you. Now i believe most of you out there who are reading this are in their teens , one probable issue you are suffering is starting a relationship. Boy like girls or boy like girl ,the person who has the crash is sad about not being noticed . sounds familiar ?

Well here is a some help . open your eyes!! ....step aside and see her for who she is , see what makes her react , see her body language , is she angry ? is she tired? see what makes her smile and be happy? when you open your eyes, you can see all this and then you work with what you find out to go interact with her. Soon she will notice you for seeing her as she is.

Do not be mistaken . there are many other things you can learn besides the example above. Just start noticing things around you, be more alert and i guarantee you that you will find something interesting .

basic instinct

Here is a cool experiment to show you one of our basic instinct when we are faced with a situation.But before that a little intro about this instinct. Since the beginning of men , we were designed with this programme to keep us alive. When faced with a situation our brain sends a lightening fast signal to our whole body causing us to be filled with awareness and energy to face with what is coming up . Read the instructions

In the video you should see a room with a chair in the middle , what i need you to do is after clicking the play button i want you to count the number of items in the room and see how many you can find and figure out.This would cause your brain to go to a working state which is vital ...there would be a timer and when the time is up the chair in the middle of the room would rock ....stare at it , and recount the items you found . lets see how many things you can remember?? and soon you will get to know why this experiment is done.

ladies and gentlemen , you have just experience a fight or flight rush . This is an instinct that has kept people from us generation down to cavemen alive . How it works is that when a person is face with a potential live threatening situation your brain instinctively sends a signal to the body on how to face the situation . Either to fight and go against a situation or to run away from it . And in your case after watching the video if you were shocked and a thought of running came over your head , you experienced a flight signal where as fight , if you stayed and though shocked by still unmoved ,your head is geared to fight signals . pretty cool eh?

MAYBE I

A man with faith and a man without faith . which will learn to out live the other . If you chose the man with faith . that may very well be true. but why? why know that that this god given gift is essential but yet not follow the need .

Go look out in society now, what examples of faith can we see ? No No, step away from the stereotype that faith is about church , god and all that . faith has never been bound by the boundaries of god and the church , not at all .This force , this thing in us is very much relate and relevant to our daily life.

To some , faith is trust , the very knowledge to know that what is coming is coming . From our cradle to grave , we have always trusted. Try observing a mother and a baby , that in it self is the living example of faith , the baby trusting that the mother loves him/her and the mother placing her faith that what she has in her hands is very special . all without a word being said to each other. But of course , like i said faith has no bounds, applying itself to both in daily life and spiritually , being a lover and believer of god myself, i have seen faith in church by the fact that we pray . We putting our trust in something we cant see.

By here is when we have flawed.We have this powerful energy in us but we don't use it to the fullest. Faith , do you know how much benefits it will provide by believing ? let me show you

If we believe in something , our whole natural body would react in a predictable way that would cause a series of event to happen leading to the something . try thinking about it ? remember the time when you wanted something so badly , you knew one day you would get it... you didn't know how and you never let doubts from yourself and others to get in the way . ha ha , and the result? did you get it ? ..I'm willing to bet you did , if you did , remember how it did come to that . yeah , it was because you believe .

So put a little belief and trust in the thing you do everyday ... don't just say it ,follow it and see what it can do for you ... haha, don't take my word for it , try it and see for your self .

Now , i want to hear some opinions out there because i know this is a debated issue and every angle is welcome here . haha

The gift

Worry , have you got alot of it ? or have you been bothered by it everytime it settles you?
Well you should be bothered ... worry , is one of the root causes that leads to opportunites for many illness and health problems besides mental and emotion stress.

When you worry , you disrupt the body's cycle natural clock in you(its the reason why you cant sleep at night when you worry) ...which causes lack of sleep and the decrease in your immune system .Not only that it sends your heart to beat faster and make you feel that hollow feeling. This emotionally stresses you and bet you wouldnt like to feel it .

What i learnt over the years is that we can reduce it by living in today . There is an old saying " yesterday, is history, tomorrow is a mystery ,but today is a gift , Thats why its called the present".
Living in today , makes you less concern of what was and what will be .

But there are many other ways to reduce stress and live happy . why , i witness it in my class. She live her life only in the present , haha , she does things as long as she is happy . She doesnt seem to concern herself much on the trival stuff and we could learn a thing or 2 from her . haha

What is love to you ?

Dictionary states it as the emotional bond , a form of connection . The church proclaims it as the gift which god has graciously gave us .Media view it as the trival works for life and drama .

But ask yourself this , what is love to you?

This is a very flexible emotion.In the many years of your life i'm willing to bet you seen your fair share of the different kind of this double-edge force.And in a way , each time our views changes of it , our way of reacting of it changes.dont you think?

And if you do , in what way do you think it will ?

Because this is such a formless energy , many people would have differenet experience to what love is. NOw here is where i would really want to find out more about what you think about it and tell me how you feel about love?

Ask yourself of these questions , to help express your views.

Do you feel toward god , is there an element of love in it ?

when with your spouse , how was it when your relationship first sarted ?

Or maybe , how would you describe relationship with your parents?

how about , the persue for love ? have you ever tried to find love ?

and importantly , what is love to you ?

Welcome !!

Welcome everyone to the recent redraft of the old blog platinum renewal . For those of you who been to this blog before , I'd like to welcome you back again and assure you that this blog is long from dead.

Now, before getting to the entry i want to say a few words to some people out there who may be reading this . Firstly i want to say thank you to HSC ,my NYP class, though i may not have said it or show it . I really enjoyed these pass 1 1/2 years with all and even learn lots from you guys .I hope in futures to come we will still be as united because we are really something together .

To my church friends , Michelle , Nicole , Dan , john , Simeon , Sabrina , Hubert , James , Vic , Alyssa and Christan . I haven't said it to guys before but I'm really grateful and honoured to know you friends. Don't know about you guys but going to church is rather mentally hard for me , but you guys really made a difference and make going to church that much worthwhile .

NOW WE BEGIN!

There is going to be a little difference in this blog , it no longer about the boring old issue of my daily routine . No!! this time it will change , this time hopefully it will be more interesting to you . Because this blog will be dedicated to you !! and for you .....

How??

i be sharing issues that you reading this blog can relate and understand . And i promise I'll try to make it as interesting for you as possible . I'll even encourage feedback and your views and place it in my next entry.

The Silent Break

Alright, if you have read that little appreciation right at the start of the entry , you all will probably be wondering why i made it and not bother to say it out to the them. Why keep it in and not expressed it personally to them if they really means so much ?

Now let me ask you , why haven't you?? ( For those that do , con grates and please do contact me , i would love to meet you and learn a thing or 2 from you) . Think about it ? When was the last time ,you said to someone "thank you for accompanying me" or show appreciation from the bottom of our hearts ??

Some of you may , some of you may not . But you all know how it feels like ,right ?when someone says something nice and about you , that heartwarming feeling just bubbles up inside you and you cant help but smile . Now, wouldn't be great for someone else to feel it too ?

We all love to feel like we belong somewhere ,to be someone ,to be happy and loved . Now , in my experience there is no better way of getting them but to give that chance to someone , make them feel loved , be a someone for you .Because you get what you give . So work out the math , break the silence and try showing appreciation , even if its just a little one .

But word of caution , do not flatter . They are tools by fools .Its cheap and insincere. What you say must be from your heart and honest.

Enough said ! Now here is your chance to show what you think , is this bullshit ? or do you share the same view ? And as I'm sometimes guilty of such silence against appreciation , why not tell me a thing or two and suggest some ways to i could break this habit ?
